Nike Pegasus 41 Modern Mayfly M Shoes Honey-Black

The first Nike Air Pegasus was released in 1983 and quickly gained recognition among runners for its versatility and comfort. Nike designers were inspired by Pegasus himself from Greek mythology, symbolizing speed and power, reflecting the brand's ambition to create shoes for runners.

Since then, the Pegasus line has undergone numerous changes and updates, adapting to the evolving needs and expectations of runners and utilizing the latest technologies available in athletic footwear. After further refinements, the new Pegasus 41 has been created, offering even more stability and comfort during every running session.

Nike's Modern Mayfly colorway pays homage to a legendary and unique design from over 20 years ago—the Nike Mayfly , which was intended as a racing shoe for the short haul of life… and wear and tear. Inspired by the insect mayfly , this original model was distinguished by its lightweight, almost ephemeral construction and the idea that after 100km of running, the shoes should be recycled.

The new Nike Modern Mayfly collection takes a range of modern running styles, such as the Pegasus 41 , Pegasus Premium , Vomero 18 and Structure 26 , and updates them with a graphic design inspired by the original Mayfly:

This latest version delivers superior responsiveness on every run thanks to the advanced technology of two Zoom Air units positioned in the forefoot and heel, on an even softer and more responsive ReactX foam. ReactX foam delivers 13% more energy return and has a 43% lower carbon footprint than regular React foam.

The wider forefoot and heel area compared to the Pegasus 40 offer additional space , increasing stability and allowing the resilient Air unit to release energy more freely. The upper, made of advanced mesh, is even lighter and more breathable than in the previous version of this model, improving comfort and fit.

The Pegasus 41 is made of the same internal materials and features the same lining as its predecessor. The interior of the shoe is carefully crafted to protect the most sensitive areas of the foot : the toes, arch, and heel. The midfoot strap is contoured to the arch, providing excellent support and stability.

The rubber outsole with waffle tread provides traction, while subtle grooves allow for greater flexibility.
